It’s been a long time coming, but after being robbed by her chance to represent Australia at Eurovision last year thanks to a global pandemic, Montaigne has delivered her 2021 Eurovision song – ‘Technicolour’.
It’s a powerhouse, hyperpop anthem (but of course) that Montaigne will perform in Rotterdam in May this year, now – fingers crossed – Eurovision can go ahead.
The 2020 song contest was cancelled last year due to coronavirus, marking the first time in its 64 year history it didn’t go ahead.
“I’m so excited to present ‘Technicolour’ to the world!” Montaigne said in a press statement.
“I think it does it all — makes you want to cry, makes you want to dance, makes you want to take on a malignant corporate power — and I think that it is both forward-thinking and suitable for Eurovision.”
For those of you attending Sydney’s Mardi Gras parade this weekend, you’re in for an even better treat – Montaigne will be giving ‘Technicolour’ its live debut at the SCG for the event.
