KISS’ Gene Simmons has vented via Twitter about this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame results. 2021’s batch of new inductees were announced yesterday and Simmons disagrees.
This year’s class included the likes of Tina Turner, Foo Fighters, Jay Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren and The Go-Go‘s.
Gene Simmons has now labelled the institution “disgusting”. “RR Hall of Fame is a sham not to include Maiden. Disgusting!” he said.

No less than one minute later, he backed the tweet up.
“Sadly, Rage Against The Machine shut out of RR Hall of Fame. The Hall should be ashamed of themselves…” he said.

In the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s defence, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson did say he’d refuse induction back in 2018.
“I’m really happy we’re not there and I would never want to be there. If we’re ever inducted, I will refuse — they won’t bloody be having my corpse in there,” he told The Jerusalem Post.
Gene Simmons’ band KISS were inducted into the Hall of Fame back in 2014. The band’s Paul Stanley was also critical of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back then.
Stanley was openly critical during the awards and his acceptance speech. He said the band was, “inducted for the same things that we were kept out for.”
