If shimmery indie pop bangers are your thing then it’s time to get acquainted with Isla Noon. Music Feeds is blessed to be premiering her second single, ‘Talk About Us’ today.
‘Talk About Us’ is the auditory equivalent of glitter and grit coming together in the most amazing way. The single is full of these sparkling hooks, infectious melodies, and this stunning, layered production.
It’s a lot of fun. Lyrically though, ‘Talk About Us’ unpacks the idea of reaching out to a partner who is totally closed off.
“On the surface, ‘Talk About Us’ is about trying to reach someone in your life who has become closed off,” says Isla Noon.
“It’s confronting, almost melodramatic. The song leans into the self-consciousness of that situation, the bargaining, the unraveling, the white-knuckled holding-on-so-tight that sees the other person slipping through your fingers.
“It can be a fuzzy place emotionally, and if you’re not careful, you can lose yourself in that place too. I wrote about it as something I and some close friends around me have experienced at different times in life.
“Not only because it’s such a confronting state to be in but also because it’s kind of beautiful in its vulnerability.”
Noon’s knack for combining these incredibly catchy hooks with such emotion is really reminiscent of Robyn.

‘Talk About Us’ is the follow up to Isla Noon’s 2020 debut single, ‘Summer In August’.
The new single will be out officially this Friday, 2nd July.
