Thom Yorke has taken his well-documented hatred of ‘Creep’ to its logical conclusion, with a sullen remix that seems to have been sharted into existence for the sole purpose of ruining Radiohead‘s biggest song for all of us.
Well, that’s not exactly true. Yorke actually remixed the band’s biggest hit to soundtrack fashion designer Jun Takahashi’s Undercover Fall 2021 fashion show, Creep Very, back in March.
But now, he’s opted to inflict his contemporary re-imagining of the chart-topping Pablo Honey single that he has previously referred to as “crap”, and fans of which he has affectionately dubbed “anally retarded”, on the rest of us.
At nine minutes long, the plodding ‘Creep (Very 2021 Rmx)’ is more than twice the length as the original cut. It’s also credited to ‘Thom Yorke featuring Radiohead’ which says it all really.
After years of enduring fans’ relentless calls to play the song live, Thom Yorke has truly had the last laugh.
