New Dr. Dre Music Drops Thanks To GTA Online Expansion Pack

Dr. Dre fans are living at the moment, with the release of a batch of new tracks from the hip hop icon.

Thanks to GTA Online and its new expansion content – The Contract – a soundtrack featuring numerous Dr. Dre collaborations with the likes of Anderson .Paak, Snoop Dogg and Eminem has been unveiled this week.

It’s a rare moment to be enjoyed when Dr. Dre drops new music (the producer and rapper has long been keeping fans waiting when it comes to his Detox project), so to have not one but six new tracks out is an anomaly. The new music plays into the GTA storyline, where the central character Franklin and his crew set up their ‘celebrity solutions agency’ to recover Dr. Dre’s new music.

Within the game, players can also go in studio with Dr. Dre and guest artists to look in on them making music in ‘Record A Studios’.

Featuring on the soundtrack, we’ve got ‘Gospel’ featuring Eminem and The D.O.C., ‘The Scenic Route’ featuring Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars; ‘ETA’ featuring Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes; as well as ‘Diamond Mind’, featuring the late Nipsey Hussle and Ty Dolla $ign. Dr. Dre has also included two solo efforts on the soundtrack in ‘Black Privilege’ and ‘Fallin’ Up’.

If you already own Grand Theft Auto V, you can get stuck into this expansion pack for free right now. For the rest of us who are hanging out for more Dr. Dre, the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2022 is set to be the next major appearance on the artist’s calendar.

Taking place on February 13th, the show will be a hip hop masterclass curated by Dr. Dre and featuring Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Eminem. The Super Bowl will be played at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California – hip hop fans will know and recognise the significance of such an event taking place out on the west coast.
