Kanye West has only just released his new album, DONDA 2, exclusively via the Stem Player, but he appears to be back in the studio, this time with indie duo Beach House.
Ye, one of the music world’s most indiscriminate collaborators, posted a series of photos with himself and the Baltimore dream pop duo. Beach House, which comprises vocalist/keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally, are tagged in one of the photos.
LA producer John Cunningham, who has worked with XXXTENTACION, Halsey, Lil Peep and others, all but confirmed the collaboration on Twitter. Beach House haven’t posted about it on their own social media channels.
Beach House released their eighth studio album, Once Twice Melody, just days before the premiere of Ye’s DONDA 2. Ye’s 11th album is available exclusively through Ye’s own Stem Player website, which sets users back $USD200. Once Twice Melody is out via Sub Pop Records and can be found in all the usual places.
A complete list of DONDA 2 personnel is not yet available, but the album is confirmed to include guest vocals from Jack Harlow, Future, Travis Scott, Fivio Foreign, Alicia Keys, XXXTENTACION, Don Toliver, Baby Keem, Migos, Sean Leon, Vory and Soulja Boy.
If the Beach House studio sessions prove fruitful, it won’t be Ye’s first foray into the world indie rock. His previous indiesphere collaborators include Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.
