Not even one whole weekend out of releasing what is easily one of the biggest – if not the biggest – albums of 2022, Kendrick Lamar has announced his Australian return.
The rapper hasn’t been out to Australia since 2018 and clearly, hasn’t wasted time in kicking off his Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers chapter with a global tour. The Australian leg of the tour come at the end of an extensive run that kicks off in the US in July.
We’ll be seeing Kendrick in arenas this December, such a great way to close out the year for fans. And what’s even better, Kendrick’s bringing younger cousin and protégé Baby Keem on the road, as well as Mr. Morale collaborator, Tanna Lowe.

The release of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers on Friday (May 13) marked the return of Kendrick Lamar after five years away. Fans had seen him pop up on various projects in the years between DAMN. and now – most memorably, this year’s Super Bowl halftime show – but the anticipation for the new full Kendrick Lamar album has been reaching fever pitch for some time.
The album is Kendrick’s final release on long time label Top Dawg Entertainment. TDE’s President, Punch, praised Kendrick’s efforts and looked forward to bright things ahead of the weekend.
“Shout out to Kendrick Lamar and co,” he tweeted.
“Congrats on the new album. Last one on TDE. We made history! Much love and continued success.”
Tickets for Kendrick Lamar’s Australian tour are on sale to the general public from midday local time, Friday 20 May. A Live Nation pre-sale kicks off from 1pm local time, Thursday 19 May.
