The U.S hip hip community has been mourning the loss of another artist, with the death of Atlanta rapper Trouble over the weekend.
The 34 year old artist, who released his last album Thug Luv back in 2020, was shot early on Sunday morning during a home invasion. Trouble, who’s real name was Mariel Semonte Orr, had been visiting a female friend when the suspect, Jamichael Jones, allegedly broke into the house and opened fire.
According to Sheriff’s spokesperson Jedidia Canty, Jones knew the woman, but did not even know Orr.
As of today, Jones’ location was not known and police were investigating further into his whereabouts, as he is now being sought out on warrants of allegations of murder, home invasion and aggravated assault.
Def Jam, one of the labels which Trouble had been signed to, posted on Instagram that Trouble had been ‘a true voice for his city’ and ‘an inspiration to the community he proudly represented’.
