The Smith Street Band, Regurgitator, Magic Dirt to Play Mt Gambier’s Beer & BBQ Festival 2024

Mount Gambier is gearing up for the inaugural South East Beer & BBQ Festival, which is set to bring a mix of entertainment to the Limestone Coast. Scheduled for Saturday, 9th and Sunday, 10th March at Mount Gambier’s Railway Lands, the festival will place special focus on local flavours and talents.

South East Beer & BBQ Festival will feature an impressive lineup of Australian bands, including The Smith Street Band and Bad//Dreems. Saturday’s music program will be further enriched by The Pretty Littles, Blush, LOLA, and Mount Gambier’s own Sexy As Shit. Sunday will see performances from Regurgitator, Magic Dirt, and several emerging local bands, providing a wide range of musical styles to enjoy.

A Blend of Music, Food, and Fun at Mount Gambier Beer & BBQ Festival

Gareth Lewis, the festival’s co-director, said the South East Beer & BBQ Festival is not just a spin-off of its Adelaide counterpart, but something with its own unique identity, deeply connected to the Limestone Coast region. Organisers hope the festival’s blend of music, food, and diverse activities will attract both locals and visitors seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

In addition to the Mount Gambier musical feast, the festival will offer a diverse array of beers and BBQ. Local breweries like Woolstore, Loophole, and Little Rippa will showcase their brews alongside interstate visitors such as Sydney’s Bracket Brewing and Melbourne’s The Mill. The BBQ segment, under the curation of Alana Brabin, will feature collaborations with Chef Kirby Shearing of Soul Projects. A variety of food options, including vegetarian and vegan BBQ, will cater to all tastes.

The festival’s entertainment extends beyond music and food. Attendees can look forward to BMX and skating demonstrations, a silent disco, masterclass panels with brewers and chefs, a tattoo parlour, and even a hot dog eating contest. While Saturday’s event is exclusively for adults, Sunday welcomes families and dogs.
