Jordie Lane Launches Album in NSW and Canberra Next Week

With his impressive debut album Sleeping Patterns heralded as ‘album of the week’ by Radio Adelaide and RRR FM in Melbourne, Jordie Lane is set to launch Sleeping Patterns in NSW and Canberra next week.

Catch Jordie on Wednesday 1 July at the Oxford Tavern in Wollongong with Backwater and Rye & Caudle; Thursday 2 July at the Grand Junction Hotel in Maitland; and Friday 3 July at Old City Bank Bar in Katoomba with Lamplight.

Jordie will then make his way to Sydney to play The Vanguard on Saturday 4 July with Lamplight, Lanie Lane and Adrian Duetsch; and then The Folkus Room at the Italo-Australian Club in Canberra on Sunday 5 July, with Lamplight and Eva Popov.

Co-produced by Jeff Lang and Tim Hall, Sleeping Patterns had been brewing in the subconscious of Jordie’s mind for four years, and eventually came to fruition in the winter of 2008. Recorded in little more than five days, the album is storytelling at its rawest, gutsiest, and most fragile.

Featuring guest performances by prominent roots artists Ashley Davies, Jeff Lang, Laura Jean, and Liz Stringer, Sleeping Patterns moves between finger pickin’ ballads, western tunes, rockin’ blues and the odd sea shanty. These are songs delivered with such beautiful imagery and wisdom that it’s hard to believe most tracks were written before Jordie had even turned 21.

Over the past five years Jordie has released two EPs, played countless live shows including several sold out performances at The Spiegeltent and The Port Fairy Folk Festival, and toured alongside Loudon Wainwright lll, Gotye, Jeff Lang, and Kate Miller Heidke. Highly regarded as a solo performer, Jordie also collaborated with Canadian songwriter Tracy McNeil under the moniker of Fireside Bellows, and they are still receiving accolades today for their 2008 release, No Time To Die.

2009 will see Jordie complete an extensive national album launch tour, and make appearances on Spicks and Specks (ABC TV) and Sunday Arts (ABC TV).
