The Red Hot Chili Peppers have paid their respects to Adam “MCA” Yauch who passed away over the weekend from a long battle with cancer. RHCP frontman Anthony Kiedis wore an MCA T-shirt at the band’s recent show at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and the group included various tributes throughout the show.
According to RollingStone Kiedis proclaimed, “We’re playing this show tonight for Adam Yauch.” and during the show Flea jumped in to the bass riff of Beasties Boys’ Gratitude. Later the whole band joined in an instrumental jam of So What’cha Want (Watch below).
RHCP aren’t the only ones to pay respect to Yauch, with a flood of tributes from fellow musicians since news of his passing early Saturday morning.
