Metallica have offered their fans a lengthy 16-minute video covering on-stage and backstage antics from one of their shows in Edmonton, Canada last month.
Loudwire reports that the video takes you behind the scenes at their meet-and-greet with some lucky fans, and also goes inside their intimate on-tour tuning room. There’s also footage of their biggest hits from the show that night (August 17) – in particular, an up-close and pro-audio live clip of Metallica performing The Memory Remains.
At the beginning of the clip, drummer Lars Ulrich meets up with a fan during their meet-and-greet. The fan emphatically defends the band’s Lulu collaboration with Lou Reed – which was widely panned on all fronts.
Another highlight from the clip comes in the tuning room, when the four members call on an outside source to throw song ideas at them for their warm-up – something most fans would jump at the opportunity to do. Watch that and other fun moments in the clip below.
Metallica will be in Australia in February and March next year to headline the Soundwave festival. The Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney legs have sold out; however, if you’re quick, you might be able to pinch a ticket or two in Adelaide or Perth.
