Australian alternative rockers The Owls are hitting the road to toast their second EP Swamp Love, due out November 9 via Green Media Distribution. The follow-up to 2010’s self-titled EP – which produced the radio played single Go, Let It Go – Swamp Love can already flaunt the band’s current guitar-driven single Better Off Deaf.
Music Feeds recently sat down with The Owls just after the Newcastle quartet stepped off stage at their hometown festival Fat As Butter. The lads opened up about scrapping the original recordings of Swamp Love after declaring the finished product was too polished and “basically shit”.
The Owls then proceeded to re-record the tracks in a more gruff and raw quality that better reflected the band’s hard-working ethic. It’s that kind of tenacity and independent mentality that fans can expect from The Owls when they hit the road next month for an East Coast-ish tour that will see the straight shooting band pass through Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
