Maybe it’s all the cough medicine he’s been drinking, or maybe his recent health scares have left Weezy with a desire to make the most of life. But either way, the hip hop mogul has announced plans to tour for a full 12 months in support of his forthcoming album I Am Not a Human Being II.
The news broke during an interview on MTV (Via Complex) following the worldwide debut of his latest single No Worries. Explaining to presenter Sway Calloway, Lil Wayne states, “February 19, that’s the official date…I’m gonna tour right after the album drops and I’m gonna tour all year round worldwide. [The opening lineup for the tour] never matters. [It’s just] whoever wants to roll with me.”
This could mean that Lil Wayne will come good on a recently canned headlining run of Australian dates.
Wayne also delved deep into his new record, confirming that the album sees him collaborate with the likes of Drake, Future and Nicki Minaj. Juicy J is said to have produced a handful of tracks on the album, as well as David Banner, Cool & Dre, and Diplo also having their input.
Kanye West‘s fingerprints can also be found on the record, though only as far as the album cover. According to Wayne, Yeeze hit him up about designing the artwork, but will have no say on the music.
Lil Wayne has also used the interview as a chance to clear things up. Following I Am Not a Human Being II, he will be releasing Tha Carter V will be his last record ever.
