If you are a Dinosour Jr. fan and you weren’t in New York for their super-special show at Terminal 5 last night, you missed out on some pretty damn cool stuff.
Consequence Of Sound report the band’s show – which celebrated the 25th anniversary of their renowned 1987 album You’re Living All Over Me – included a full performance of the album, as well as another set filled with various covers and surprise guests.
The Smiths’ axeman Johnny Marr helped Dinosaur Jr. cover two songs from his band – The Boy With The Thorn In His Side and The Wagon. Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew joined them for the latter track.
Other special guests included Frank Black for a cover of his band The Pixies’ track Tame, and Tommy Stinson and Portlandia’s Fred Armisen coming on board for a cover of The Stooges’ T.V. Eye.
There were also special guests helping on Dinosaur Jr’s own tracks as well – Kurt Vile guested for Alone, while former Sonic Youth members Kim Gordon and Lee Renaldo helped out with performances of Don’t and Little Fury Things.
