Digital visuals of Sea Shepherd Australia will be featured in the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ stage show when the band perform at the Big Day Out over the next few weeks.
Sea Shepherd confirmed that they would be teaming up with the Chilis for the event, and will also have a market stall at all of the BDO pit stops around the country.
A wide range of Sea Shepherd merchandise and information will be available at the stand, which will be operated by the group’s ‘Onshorevolunteers’.
Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Australia is an international non-profit conservation organisation whose mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans, in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have been longtime supporters of Sea Shepherd – frontman Anthony Keidis is on the organisation’s board of directors.
Early last year, the band joined the fight to stop German authorities from extraditing Captain Paul Watson to Costa Rica.
“The Red Hot Chili Peppers are longtime supporters of Sea Shepherd, Captain Watson and the wonderful work they do to save our ocean and protecting marine wildlife globally,” they stated at the time.
