Perth quartet Voltaire Twins will do two intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney next weekend – their last shows before bunkering down in the studio to record their debut album.
The shows will feature a few special guests as well – with Buckley Ward, The McQueens, and Limb and Acolyte jumping on stage in Melbourne, and Swimwear (aka Tim from Dappled Cities) and Shining Bird helping out in Sydney.
2012 was a crazy year for the band – it began with a North American tour and appearances at SXSW and Canadian Music week. This was followed quickly with a national tour with San Cisco, a headline tour of their own, an EP release and a WAMi award, and support slots for UK acts The Maccabees and Mystery Jets.
Voltaire Twins also made headlines with their music video for single Solaris after it was banned from YouTube for its graphic nudity and depictions of hetero and same-sex raciness. Who knows what chaos they’ll create at the forthcoming shows – but it’s best you go along to be amongst it all!
