Vampire Weekend Delay Release Of ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’

Hard luck Vampire Weekend fans – the band have been forced to delay the release of their new album Modern Vampires Of The City…by a week.

According to a statement on their website, the band have been forced to delay the album’s release due to “unanticipated delays in the production of physical copies of the record”.

As a result, the US release date has been bumped from 7th May to 14th May, and the international release is now set for 13th May. Cause we here in Australia are lucky ducks and usually get new album releases a bit earlier, it’s pretty safe to say we’ll be able to pick up the record at least a day earlier than that.

Naturally, the band has apologised for the delay on their website, but also assured fans the record will definitely be in shops on the dates listed above. “We all worked very hard on this record and promise it will be worth the wait,” they wrote.

Vampire Weekend toured Australia at the start of this year as part of the Big Day Out – previewing songs from Modern Vampires Of The City as part of their set.
