Brazilian metal kings Sepultura have enlisted the producer of their most successful record to be at the helm of their next studio release.
Blabbermouth reports the band are reuniting with producer Ross Robinson – the man behind the desk for their classic 1996 album Roots, which sold over two million copies worldwide. They’ll be bunkering down in Robinson’s studio in Venice, California in June to track the record, with fellow longtime collaborator Steve Evetts co-producing.
Guitarist Andreas Kisser told Diario de Pernambuco the band currently have 13 songs in various stages of completion for the record.
“We are in the process of writing and we have already stared working on some of the lyrics. I am also working on guitar solos and other ideas,” he said.
“This is the first time writing with Eloy Casagrande on drums and everything sounds fresh. You’ll just have to wait to hear it. It’s very difficult to describe what we’re doing, but I can say that will be one of the strongest Sepultura albums to date. It will be definitely one of the best albums in the history of Sepultura.”
The album is due out in late 2013. Last week, Sepultura confirmed themselves for a pretty epic hometown gig as part of the Rock In Rio Festival in September.
