Jake Bugg Locks In Splendour 2013 Sideshows For July

Well, hot damn – you are just spoiled for choice when it comes to Splendour In The Grass sideshows today and, never one to be left out, English indie folk wunderkind Jake Bugg will be playing headlining shows in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Bugg was an early prediction for Splendour, with his killer track Lightning Bolt being used in a teaser trailer for the festival long before the line-p announcement. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter plays tunes way beyond his years, with last year’s self-titled debut album being nominated for a Brit Award. It’s hard to avoid comparisons to Bob Dylan, although Bugg himself shrugs those off, saying, “Bob Dylan’s cool, you know, he’s great, but he’s not a major influence.” Alrighty, then.

Jake Bugg plays Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney and The Corner in Melbourne this July. Tickets go on sale 9:00am AEST Monday, 13th May at Secret Sounds.

UPDATE 13/05/13: The Sydney venue for Jake Bugg’s headlining show has changed from the Oxford Arts Factory to the Metro Theatre.
