Dave Navarro has done the most Dave Navarro thing he could possibly do – in a tribute to his late mother, the Jane’s Addiction guitarist has bled from a cut to his forehead into a wine glass, with the blood then being used to immortalise an image of his mother. What’s more, the whole thing was done in the middle of the Californian desert.
This isn’t the sort of thing you do without proper supervision, so Navarro hit up artists and body modification experts Samppa Von Cyborg and Aneta Von Cyborg to help with the project. The whole thing was documented in a series of photos which you can check out below.
Dave Navarro’s bloody portrait of his mum, Constance
Navarro’s mother, Constance Navarro, was killed by a boyfriend in 1983, when her son was just 15 years old. The case was heavily documented on America’s Most Wanted. Her killer, John Riccardi, spent years on the run but was eventually caught, just managing to escape the death penalty.
But, yes – there’s a lot of blood. If you’re reading this, let’s hope you’re a fan of Navarro’s previous escapades and therefore have a strong stomach. (Images via Loudwire)
