Barn Owl Announce Australian Tour, August 2013

Desert rock soundscape maestros Barn Owl have long since been gaining critical acclaim for their performances and recordings in the US and Europe but thankfully come August it will be Australia’s turn to experience the duo’s meditative, psychedelic music in person with a short run of shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

The duo of Jon Porras and Evan Caminiti first appeared on the musical radar when they started their own label, Electric Totem, and released three albums Conjurer, Headlands and Ancestral Star. Since then the band have been like a best kept secret headphone candy for Australian fans.

Barn Owl will be touring the country to promote their fifth studio album, V, which sees the band’s sound moving away from conventional rock instrumentation with the introduction of drum machines and synths. As well as performances at Goodgod in Sydney and Northcote Social Club in Melbourne the guys will be headlining the opening party of Tura New Music’s biennial Totally Huge New Music Festival playing with Japan’s Haco and Melbourne’s Speak Percussion.
