Triple J have this morning announced the nominees for this years J Award for excellence in the field of making a music clip. With such few places on the shortlist, the standards could not have been higher, resulting in a list of 6 bands, and 6 directors who have excelled at their craft.
The Paper Kites kick off the list with the visuals for their clip Young, followed by Clubfeet who made a music video so cool for Everything You Wanted, that other bands ripped it off. Bluejuice received a nod for their SOS clip, and if you’ve seen it it’s pretty obvious why. Vance Joy managed to score a place as did Kingswood for their 9-minute epic Ohio. Thundamentals cap off the list with their single Smiles Don’t Lie.
Already, artists nominated for Album Of The Year and Unearthed act of the year have been announced, unveiling a high level of Aussie talent for all to see.
Winners are expected to be revealed and showered with glory on Friday, 22nd November.
