With the second lineup announcement for Soundwave 2014 still delighting ticket-holders with thoughts of moshing to the likes of Mastodon and HIM, the attention of punters is now focused squarely on that third lineup announcement and the all-important Sidewaves schedule.
Fans have been incessantly pestering promoter AJ Maddah with requests for Sidewaves in their area, to which Australia’s most powerful industry mogul has occasionally replied with a swipe of his magic scheduling wand, while relegating others to a characteristic “nope.”
Maryland rockers Clutch have already been announced as scheduled to play a quick run of East Coast dates coinciding with their SW appearance, but if Maddah’s blessed tweets are anything to go by, there’s still plenty of announcements left, and Music Feeds is here to ensure you stay informed!
Maddah has said “about 70% of bands will do a side show. Of those most will be in Melb,” and recently revealed that announcements will begin this week, with “a whole bunch” set to be announced.
UPDATE 16/12/13: Though last week Maddah told a fan via Twitter that “A whole bunch [of Sidewaves] will be announced next week,” it appears this won’t be happening until next week at the earliest as Chris O’Brien, General Manager of Soundwave, has allegedly put the kibosh on those plans.
“I have been banned by [Chris O’Brien] from announcing them this week because the office want to go bowling instead. Lazy fucks,” says Maddah. So announcements have been delayed due to recreational reasons. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated as details come through.
UPDATE 06/01/14: Maddah revealed to one twitter punter that the first bunch of Sidewave shows will be announced this Friday 10th January. Stay tuned for the dates as they roll in.
UPDATE 14/01/14: We’re now being told that THIS Friday is the day that Sidewave dates begin to drop, with announcements set to roll out over the next three weeks or so. We’ve got a good feeling this date will stick, considering that this Friday is also the day that the long-awaited third lineup announcement is officially due. Hold tight – the wait is almost over.

Korn & Rob Zombie Sidewaves 2014
After a fan demanded AJ Maddah schedule a Korn/Rob Zombie Sidewave for Melbourne one day before announcements were set to be released, the nonchalant mogul replied, “Ok.” Maddah then expanded by revealing that there will be Korn and Rob Zombie co-headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
UPDATE 23/01/14: AJ revealed earlier this month that Mushroomhead would receive a sideshow, tweeting, “it’ll happen. And it will be AWESOME.” The band have now confirmed via their official Facebook channel that they have been added as supports to Korn and Rob Zombie’s co-headline Sidewaves.
