In what marks the kick-off of the Splendour In The Grass 2014 rumour Olympics, the UK’s London Grammar have hinted they might have a place on next year’s SITG lineup.
The band, who will soon be in the country to play Field Day, Falls Festival and Southbound, revealed to The Vine they were supposed to play Splendour this year, but couldn’t get the scheduling down.
“We were supposed to play it this year but they couldn’t get us out there in time,” said guitarist Dan Rothman. “It wasn’t going to work, so I think it’s always been the plan to go back next year.”
The trio of Hannah Reid, Dot Major, and Dan Rothman have built a strong following in Australia after their debut record If You Wait entered the ARIA charts at #2 and held a Top 5 spot for the following week.
In addition to a number of Australia festival appearances over the summer, London Grammar will be playing two extra East Coast shows at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, on Tuesday, 7th January, and in Melbourne with a gig at St. Kilda’s Prince Bandroom.
