Close your eyes and envision an enthused live set, to at least the first half of course. Kids In Glass Houses latest album Dirt withdraws lively experiences and brings attention to what may be modern. However, certain sets consist of only a few decent tracks.
It’s kicked off with Artbreaker I, and setting the rock temper with a shining grin. Sunshine is a ‘close your eyes’ feel, a build up of easy sing-a-long lyrics and, of course, having your best friend close by at this very moment. Perhaps a tear if it gets too emotional.
Matters At All is perhaps one of the better tracks and would leave a performance with an immense ending, as the lyrics ‘good night’ are repeated several times to the end of the song. But something not so original is a featured guest from Frankie Sandford (UK pop singer) on Undercover Lover, which is the latest single. I can’t quite get an ideal live feel for this one, however For Better Or Hearse will certainly get a crowd moving, featuring some trumpet beats.
The more I listen to this album the more I think it’s an act of several sets I’ve seen over a period of time. I love live music and perhaps this will only be served at home. The Morning Afterlife has no affect on me and so I’d only be happy with half of this set.
It’s possible I’m speaking too far ahead of myself, but don’t be shocked to walk away half way through.
