A brand new website has taken the trend of ‘pledging’ into the music concert world, and is destined to be a great resource for bands on the touring circuit as well.
Giggedin is a free service that allows bands to book events with a guaranteed audience. Once a show is announced, fans pledge to buy tickets for an event with the understanding that an event will only be held once a minimum number of pledges are reached.
The benefits are massive for artists: the pledging system guarantees them revenue and to cover their costs before they go on stage, as the show won’t go ahead unless the desired number of ‘pledges’ is registered. It also eliminates the possibility of playing to a room of 10 people (or less).
Giggedin is also a great way for fans to discover new acts and events taking place around them, and when concertgoers pledge to buy tickets using a credit card, they won’t be charged unless the gig actually goes ahead.
