Music & Gaming Collide In Melbourne This Weekend For PAX Australia 2019

Anyone who’s interested in the role that music plays in gaming had better pop along to the annual PAX Australia gaming extravaganza in Melbourne this weekend.

As well as an eye-wateringly stacked itinerary featuring Pokemon GO trade meet-ups, Mario Kart 8 time trials, a Xena Nintendo 64 Fighting tournament and a treasure trove of competitions, panel discussions, presentations, tutorials and more, there’s also a big musical element to the festivities.

Award-winning gaming composer Tim Shiel will be on deck to perform a concert tonight, fresh from winning the global Apple Design Award for his music featured on 2018’s The Gardens Between.

He’ll be joined by two Japanese gaming composers for the event.

Other PAX highlights with a musical twist this weekend include a Musical History of Zelda pesentation (which includes some bonus musical trivia) not to mention a cameo by Virginian YouTube star NateWantsToBattle, who’ll be playing an acoustic set of his original songs about video games, plus covers of anime jams!

You can peep the full itinerary right here.
