It’s been over 25 years, but it looks like at long last we might be getting a sequel to cult comedy Hocus Pocus.
Star Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed last week in an Instagram post that the original cast – herself, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy – are onboard to reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters.
On Friday, SJP posted a snapshot from the original film with the comment “Halloween 2019. One for the books.”
In the comments, a fan asked if there was any chance of a sequel – to which the Sex and the City actor replied “We have all said yes. Now we wait.”
Directed by Kenny Ortega, the original film was released back in 1993 and followed a trio of witches unwittingly resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem on Halloween.
Late last month, Midler told Entertainment Tonight “I hope they get to me before I’m a corpse. We wanna fly again.”
“I hope we get to do it, because she is one of my favourite characters … I can’t wait to read the script. We’re gonna see what happens,” Midler added.
