The king himself Sir David Attenborough will sit down with triple J Hack host Tom Tilley for what is being billed as one of his “most candid conversations” so far.
While the first portion of the interview will air this afternoon on the radio station, triple J have released a snippet of the conversation, where Attenborough absolutely slams Prime Minister Scott Morrison support for new coal mines – like the highly contested Adani mine – while also singling out Australia for our collective lack of effort on climate change.
“You are the keepers of an extraordinary section of the surface of this planet, including the Barrier Reef, and what you say, what you do, really, really matters,” he said.
“The world is sick, we really have to do things about it. And there’s no more time for argument.“
The interview is so vast that it will air over two episodes of Hack – one tonight and one tomorrow night. The full interview will also air on tomorrow night’s episode of ABC’s 730.
