Aussie owned and operated music streaming service Guvera has today signed an agreement with tech company Lenovo to become its worldwide music partner. The deal will see Guvera’s music streaming service pre-installed onto Lenovo mobile devices, cementing the service’s status as a global player in the digital music streaming industry.
The Australian owned Guvera offers unlimited music streaming via its app as well as on the web. The Guvera mobile app was recently recognised as industry leading at the Australian Mobile Awards, winning in the Music category which also included other major global competitors.
Phil Quartararo, President of Guvera USA, said, “The latest data shows us that consumers want their music on the go, resulting in the extraordinary growth in demand for mobile streaming services like Guvera.”
“Through this partnership, Guvera will become the first port of call for Lenovo mobile device users wanting access to great music content on demand, be that through our ad-funded or subscription services,” he added.
Guvera is also the only streaming service in Australia that offers free streaming options for web, mobile and tablets, providing ad-supported music on the go, with no monthly fee. There’s also a Platinum package available which gives users all the bells and whistles minus those ads.
The revamped Guvera interface also allows users to navigate content within an immersive music experience, making it easier for users to create their own playlists and download tracks for offline playback, with high-quality artwork accompanying every track.
César Ruiz, Director Business Development Worldwide at Lenovo said, “Lenovo is always looking to provide consumers with the best mobile experience, and Guvera’s innovative music stream service thoroughly complements our complete range of smartphones and tablets.”
Recode reports that Lenovo Chief Marketing Officer David Roman recently announced that Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher plans to help design a line of special-edition phones for Lenovo that will launch sometime in 2014. The actor and tech investor teamed up with Lenovo previously in 2013 to launch the firm’s Yoga Tablet line.
In January 2014, Guvera reached 750,000 members, with active users engaging with the service in excess of 70 minutes a day. The agreement with Lenovo now offers the Australian business the opportunity to launch into the 160 countries in which Lenovo has a market presence.
