Sydney Theatre Company is hosting a free exhibition of photography entitled Portraits from the Edge: Putting a Face to Climate Change by photographer and activist Jon Lewis, a founder of Greenpeace in the 70s.
The exhibition is made up of images of the people and landscapes of the Republic of Kiribati, a series of atolls situated in the Equatorial Pacific that is slowly sinking. Storm surges, freakish waves, salination of fresh water wells and lands, unpredictable weather and tidal increases are all causing crops to fail, contributing to the country’s physical demise.
So if you have a healthy appreciation for good photography, you care about climate change or regularly have no money and are looking for somewhere to take a date on the cheap, then check out Portraits from the Edge. See some of his work here.
