Baker Boy & His Young Dance Crew Serve Up High-Energy In His ‘In Control’ Clip

What a huge few weeks it’s been for rising Indigenous star Baker Boy! Hot off the back of a performance at Melbourne’s Reclink Community Cup and appearances on ABC’s Playschool and SBS’ Insight for NAIDOC week, he’s today keeping his roll going by sharing a new clip for his recent single ‘In Control’.

He worked with producer Pip Norman and the T.I.M.E crew (Thornbury Instrumental Music Experience) from Thornbury Primary School for the track, so it makes that the clip reflects the youthfulness captured in the song.

Onil Kotian, who has put clips together for the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, directed this high-energy clip. Shot at North Sydney’s PCYC, the clip features a crew of energetic young dancers, handpicked by Kotian and Baker Boy himself.

It was so much fun getting the kids involved in the video, they were all crazy talented dancers, blew me away!” Baker Boy said. “For me, it was such an obvious choice to have kids and a mini me lead the video to really marry the concept of the song to the visual. Also connecting the kids of T.I.M.E in the chorus back to the video as well!”

Putting this clip together was also an opportunity for Baker Boy to give these kids the chance to do something he didn’t have access to growing up.

“You never know this opportunity could lead to really big things for one of those kids or even inspire other kids out there to get involved, believe in themselves and put themselves out there to be chosen for an opportunity like this. No matter young or old, you are in control of your future!” “

Baker Boy was recently announced as part of the Yours & Owls All Ages Festival alongside Kwame, Skeggs and more. Check out the ‘In Control’ clip below.
