Many of us can link a certain album to pivotal moments in our lives. Whether it’s the first record you bought with your own money, the chord you first learnt to play on guitar, the song that soundtracked your first kiss, the album that got you those awkward and painful pubescent years or the one that set off light bulbs in your brain and inspired you to take a big leap of faith into the unknown – music is often the catalyst for change in our lives and can even help shape who we become.

You dear, are “A Different Kind Of Human” in the best possible way.
Ethereal, otherworldly and dream-like are the words that first come to mind when I think of you. So much more than just a sound – you are a movement, inspiring change on so many levels; an advocate for the environment, for the manifestation of an individual’s potential, for the celebration of being. You’ve taught me how to hunger for life more and to expect greatness in the midst of uncertainty.
“Just like the seed
I don’t know where to go
Through dirt and shadow, I grow
I’m reaching light through the struggle”
These words were a mantra for me when I first heard them. I sang them like scripture and believed in the possibility of chasing my own dreams. I felt potential rising up within and envisioned what I wanted for my life. For that, I am so thankful.
‘The River’ is such a beautiful tribute to the bravery of showing our humanness. It removes emotional stigma – showing vulnerability to be a power not a weakness. The sound is a celebration of the human condition – evoking feelings of freedom and compassion with that synth arpeggiator and driving drum beat. It’s the perfect combination of happy-sad – a cathartic release captured so perfectly.
You are so authentic, there’s no smoke and mirrors with this album. The tribal sound of different drums and dancing synths, the elegant use of voice that is so powerful and pretty at the same time. This album captures life so gracefully – its meditation, chanting, celebration, mourning all tied up together in an 11 track masterpiece. “I step on broken glass, and dream of soft clouds”. The world needs more of this, this intuitive and perceptive concoction of sound. I love being challenged by music, you have made me want to “dance on the moon” and feel like one day I actually could.
If I could capture your energy in one word, it would be this; love. It’s who you are, how you make me feel and how I see you at every angle.
