When it’s time for Trivium to end a tour, they go to a place where they know they’re getting a rave reception from a devoted legion of fans. Speaking to guitarist Corey Beaulieu, it immediately becomes clear why the guys decided to stage their forthcoming wrap-up tour Down Under with In Flames.
“We’ve gone down there a lot and we’re fortunate enough that ever since we first went down there people liked us and gave that us the opportunity and demand to keep coming on a regular basis,” Corey explains. “We’ve always had a really fun time in Australia, the vibe and the cities are just awesome.”
“The last couple times we’ve just always done Soundwave and we’ve been kind of hammering everyone that we wanna headline down there for the last couple years,” he adds. “We’ve done two records without headlining down there. We were able to make it happen, finally, to kind of cap everything off with our first Australian headlining tour in about four or five years. It’ll be a great way to end [our current tour] off.”
“Every time I think of Australia, I can’t think of having a lame show,” Corey tells us. “Every time we’ve gone down there, all the fans are really pumped up and energetic. Anyone that asks us, who’s never been to Australia, I tell them that the crowds are crazy down there and every time it just goes off.”
