PREMIERE: Enjoy A Whiff Of Decade-Defying Motown Soul On Neon Tetra’s New EP ‘Pollen’

Adelaide horn-blowing groove machines Neon Tetra have served up a red hot new EP dubbed Pollen and you can catch a whiff of the whole thing premiering below via Music Feeds.

Described by the band as “a romantic celebration of loss and renewal”, they’ve layered on “Motown hornlines and vintage synth textures”, channeling “vibes from our favourite 60’s and 70’s soul records”.

“Dan [Clohesy, synths] wrote a lot of tunes while listening to artists like Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes…” Neon Tetra explain of the disc’s creative genesis.

“The soul funk shines through with Josh [Allen]’s gospel-like vocals lending themself passionately to the feelings of the Motown era. The use of synth and strong grooves links the band’s more experimental beginnings with current pop tones of the music.”

To celebrate the arrival of their latest collection of decade-defying musical fusion, the group have also announced a celebratory Aussie tour stretching across August and September.
