Adelaide act Nakatomi have delivered the visuals for their ’80s-tinged first single ‘Wooden Castle’ and it’s likely going to strike you immediately.
It’s a creepy, backwards fairytale that features bears, a woodsman with an axe and Christmas trees and while that may sound wildly confusing, it’s a visual feast.
The video was directed by Tim Lucas and is a nod to 1920s cinema that also manages to incorporate the neon-lit tones that the songs sounds conjure visually.
“It’s kind of a humorous backwards fairytale. Hamish [Cox] wanted to do a clip where he didn’t have to do anything so we went with this idea so he had to spend the entire day dressed as a tree as payback,” said vocalist Emily Smart about the video.
“Hopefully spite makes for an excellent clip. There’s three characters, a woodsman, a bear and a tree, and they find friendship, battle fear and find strength.”
The duo will also be touring the single and you can check out all the dates below as well as watch the clip for ‘Wooden Castle’.
