PREMIERE: Wollongong Rockers GOSH Unveil New Feel-Good Single ‘Take A Leaf’

Wollongong indie-rockers GOSH have unveiled a new feel-good single dubbed ‘Take A Leaf’ in the lead up to their debut EP, which is expected later this year.

Premiering on Music Feeds, ‘Take A Leaf’ showcases the band’s upbeat rocker vibes and solid grasp of pop hooks, juxtaposed against lyrics about self-exploration and old habits that die very, very hard.

“The lyrics are about an internal struggle between the desire to reach one’s full potential, and the hardwearing habit of wasting time on things inconsequential and ultimately unsatisfying,” frontman Zachary Gervaise tells Music Feeds.

“I roughened up my vocal a bit to suit the meaning of the song. The musicality is pretty basic, we just wanted to focus on making the chords stand out, especially in the choruses and intro. That made a solid platform for the vocals to stand out over the top.

“I guess it’s a case of less is more and that’s something the band is trying to stick by and always keep in the back of our minds.”

‘Take A Leaf’ follows GOSH’s earlier singles ‘Honestly’ and ‘Isle Of Pines’, and arrives ahead of two launch shows the group are scheduled to play in Sydney and Wollongong this October.
