We Are Grace – What Happens On Tour Stays On Tour

We Are Grace hail from the Central Coast and have just signed with Flash Point Music. The boys will be making the trip down to the big smoke this weekend to party at ‘Last Night’ Purple Sneakers and we caught up with them to find out what We Are Grace are all about.

Music Feeds: Give us the We Are Grace story? How did the band come together?

We Are Grace: The band is a collaboration of members from previous bands who share a love of music and also share a love of the same musicians/bands. Occasionally we enjoy each other’s company as well.

MF: Tell us about the new single Yes, I Blame You? What’s the song about?

WAG: The song is about blaming the opposite party for the decline of a relationship

Talk us through the songwriting process for We Are Grace?

WAG: A main songwriter will bring a majority of an idea for a song and the rest of the band will use their musical expertise to fine tune the song to the final outcome.

MF: You’ve moved away from songs named after girls. Is it because you’ve run out of girls to sing about?

WAG: Ha never! There are plenty of attractive girls out there; the problem started becoming we couldn’t pronounce their names or they all have the same name. Do you know how many beautiful Jessicas and Megans there are floating around!

MF: Who are some of the band’s musical influences?

WAG: The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Queens of The Stone Age, and Elbow just to name a few!!

MF: Any bad habits discovered while being out on tour? WAG: None that I can divulge. What happens on tour stays on tour.

MF: What can we expect from the upcoming shows in Sydney?

WAG: Five friends who enjoy good music, good company and lots of drinks.

MF: What would be the first track you’d put onto a mix tape?

WAG: Pink Floyd’s Shine On You crazy Diamond

We Are Grace play ‘Last Night’ Purple Sneakers this Friday 22nd July.
