Since they first blessed our summers with 2009’s irrepressibly catchy singalong anthem, Home, California’s Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros have managed to chart a somewhat unexpected trajectory for themselves, crafting a unique indie folk niche that only they can fill.
In addition to consistently unveiling sonically inventive and musically one-of-a-kind full-length efforts, the band have also developed a reputation as a must-see live act, with their songs of love and spirituality manifesting themselves in elaborate and highly communal stage performances.
The band made a lot of Aussie fans very happy when they were announced as one of the acts set for the incredible lineup of Byron Bay Bluesfest 2014, sending them further into a tailspin with the news that they will play headline shows at The Palace in Melbourne and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre.
To be in the draw to score a double pass to one of these special headline shows, send your full name, contact phone number, email address, and the city to which you want to score tickets to giveaways@musicfeeds.com.au with the subject line, “Edward Sharpe Giveaway”, along with the answer to this question:
“What were the two inspirations behind the band’s video for ‘Life Is Hard’?”
(Hint: the answer can be found here!)
Entries close 5:00pm AEDT this Sunday, 23rd March 2014. Please note, the Melbourne show on Tuesday, 15th April at the Palace Theatre is an 18+ event, and best of luck!
