Organisers of the Big Sky Blues & Roots Festival, formerly known as Deni Blues & Roots Festival, have announced the event due be held over the 2015 Easter long weekend, will not be going ahead due to a difficulty in securing multiple headline acts for the event.
“Following several of the headline artists that were due to be touring next April cancelling their plans, we have made the decision not to proceed with the festival in 2015,” said promoter Michael Chugg in a statement.
“We’d love to put the show on with the great artists we have already secured, but it’s just not financially viable without the super line-up that we had always planned for. The Big Sky Blues & Roots Festival is a key event in our calendar and the last thing we want to do is push ahead with anything less than an amazing line up”.
The 2015 festival was due to feature headline acts like reggae rock fusion act Michael Franti & Spearhead, country folk act Zac Brown Band, and funk master George Clinton with Parliament Funkadelic.
“Decisions like this are really tough to make, we have spent a long time considering all of our options. We always try to consider our ticket buyers and their experience and felt we wouldn’t be able to deliver them the best possible event in 2015,” added Chugg.
“We also have to thank the great team of people that work hard to make these events happen and never want to take for granted what an incredible community spirit Deniliquin has shown us. The announcement today is by no means the end of the Big Sky Blues & Roots Festival, we will come back bigger, better and louder in 2016.”
Refunds are now available from point of purchase.
