The 2016 ARIA Award Winners: Live Updates

UPDATE: Flume has dominated this year’s ARIA Award winners. Catch our full wrap up and all the winners, right here.

ORIGINAL STORY: It’s D-Day (or more specifically ARIAs Day) for the Australian music industry, with the 2016 ARIA Awards going down this evening at Sydney’s The Star.

Some will win, more will lose, and most will get trollied at the bar before the ceremony even starts, but the most important thing is that nobody accidentally gouges themselves on one those notoriously pointy ARIA trophies.

Tonight will see a stack of nominees and Aussie music legends perform live to celebrate the 30th annual ARIAs bash, including Flume, Violent Soho, Jimmy Barnes and a whole lot more.

As for who’s tipped to sweep this year’s awards? Flume is up for a whopping 11 awards, having already taken out three awards which were announced in advance of the ceremony (‘Producer of the Year’, ‘Engineer of the Year’ and ‘Best Cover Art’)

The only other artist who comes close in terms of nominations is pop sensation Troye Sivan, who’s racked up seven, while comeback kings The Avalanches, the enigmatic Sia and Melbourne rapper Illy are up for six gongs apiece.

Meanwhile, Crowded House are set to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame, and the night will be hosted by The Veronicas, who are also up for three gongs themselves.

The ceremony kicks off at around 5:30pm AEDT, and you can catch the full list of winners as it’s updated live, below.

Happy ARIAs!
