Another week, another addition to the lineup for Bluesfest 2017. Today, organisers have gifted us with the seventh lineup announcement, this time focusing on all things six-stringed, tagging a run of the world’s most virtuosic guitar players.
The new additions include (but aren’t limited to) the Australian production of Experience Jimi Hendrix, which features a small group of Aussie greats from Rose Tattoo and Hoodoo Gurus, who have a nasty habit of selling out venues wherever they go.
Davy Knowles, formerly of Back Door Slam, has also been confirmed. Blind Boy Paxton will be returning to Australia to sooth swelling demand and Melody Angel, who punters may know from around the Chicago nightclub scene, arrives as an artist Bluesfest’s Peter Nobel has on his ‘do not miss’ list. Eric Gales, largely regarded as one of the best axemen in the world, will also be making the trip down.
It’s starting to get pretty difficult to not buy tickets to Bluesfest 2017, especially seeing just how pumped Noble is for this year’s edition.
“Along with those already announced, we have some truly amazing Blues artists performing this year for your enjoyment – a mix of new and returning Blues artists – right up the alley of any Blues fan, so let’s get into it at Easter! Can’t wait,” he says.
The list of guitarists already join a lineup which also includes Santana, Buddy Guy, Mary J Blidge, Barry Gibb and so, so, so many more. Check it out, below.
