Tasmania’s 2019 MONA FOMA (AKA MOFO) festival lineup has arrived, and hoo boy it’s a big one.
Running from the 13th to 20th of January, MONA FOMA 2019 will be headlined by Swedish singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry, Welsh electronic icons Underworld and experimental producer Oneohtrix Point Never.
Accompanying them will be a diverse roster of artists from all corners of the globe, including Ethiopian outfits Mulatu Astatke and The Black Jesus Experience. Indie outsiders Jonothan Bree and Julia Holter will also be joining the party too.
These internationals will be sharing the festival’s stages with a rich smattering of local talent, including The Hobart Symphony Orchestra and a specially curated set from Courtney Barnett.
2019 will be the first time in which the annual MONA FOMA moves north from its traditional home of Hobart to the city of Launceston.
Notorious rave event Faux Mo will also return on both Friday and Saturday nights, but as ever, its own lineup remains mysterious.
