41 People Allegedly Found With Drugs At Festival Of The Sun

41 people have allegedly been caught with illicit drugs at Port Macquarie’s Festival Of The Sun over the weekend.

Around 3,000 people attended the festival at Breakwall Tourist Park between Thursday, 13th and Saturday, 15th December, and NSW Police say 41 people were found with drugs like cannabis, MDMA, cocaine and LSD.

The police operation, which included the use of drug dogs, saw a number of people issued field court attendance notices, infringement notices, cannabis cautions and warnings.

A 27-year-old man was also charged with supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited drug, after he was allegedly found with 55 MDMA capsules.

He was conditionally bailed, and is due to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday, 9th January 2019.

Around 40 people were also treated by on-site medical personnel during the festival, for various reasons.

While police didn’t comment on overall crowd behaviour, Music Feeds has contacted Festival Of The Sun organisers for comment.

Festival Of The Sun 2018 featured sets from the likes of Vera Blue, Pond, Winston Surfshirt, Skegss, Tkay Maidza, Remi, Angie McMahon and Didirri. Check out the full lineup here.
