5 Seconds Of Summer fans are still reeling from the release of their fourth studio album CALM and, with the album debuting at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, the band have joined an exclusive club.
CALM‘s #1 debut makes it the fourth consecutive time the band have appeared at the top spot straight off the bat, making them the second ever Australian band to do so – the first was Silverchair.
Silverchair’s albums Frogstomp, Freak Show, Neon Ballroom and Diorama all hit #1 upon release, as did 5SOS’ albums 5 Seconds of Summer, Sounds Good Feels Good and Youngblood.
“We are blown away by the news that our fourth record CALM has topped the Australian charts this week,” the band said in a statement.
“And to have our first four albums go to #1 in our home country is so so special; we can’t thank our fans enough for making this happen.
“Thank you to everyone that listened to the record this week. We hope it brought you some joy during such challenging times. Love to everyone back home. Stay safe and well.”
The band have planned a homecoming tour for the end of year. Find out more about that here.
