One of the latest additions to Sydney’s boutique festival market, the inaugural Soundscape festival has us here at Music Feeds pretty pumped up. Set to take over the Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney on Saturday 28th November with a line up packed with local talent, we’ve been quietly frothing as the date approaches, with these 8 artists in particular making us pull at our collars and paw at the walls… in no particular order.
UV boi فوق بنفسجي
I’m kind of in love with UV Boi. The Brisbane based producer has worked with some of today’s best up and coming vocal talent, from Tkay Maidza to Banks, not to mention remixing Ur Boy Bangz‘ classic viral hit Take You To Movies. I only recently starting following his social media though, after David Jones told me to ‘watch this space’.

A master of a sneaky Vine and a cheeky tweet, his social media prowess is only surpassed by his talent for epic productions. And while I usually hate labeling artists with meaningless strings of over hyphenated buzz words, UV Boi makes straight-up-stadium-sized-futuresque-sensual-trap-jams. Now stare into his eyes as his glorious beats penetrate your ear holes.

Borneo
Sporting a stubby-load of endearing Aussie bogan charm, the boys from Borneo look like they know how to have a good time. Just ask John Howard, the unintentional cameo star of their video for their upbeat punky disco number Concrete Jungle.
Sounding like the goon bag loving sons of the Australian ’90s, the band’s lo-fi pop tunes are sure to go down a treat accompanied by some cold ones in the sun.

Basenji
Choosing Basenji to headline the festival was a no brainer as this fresh faced Future Classic signed producer is a veteran at turning out huge sets in style.
And I don’t just use that as a pointless piece of music journo jingo jargon, the man has recently released his own micro-range of active wear in collab with Pitch Present, for sale now from the Future Classic store.
With his Trackpad EP out now, Basenji’s technicolor production palette draws on everything from bass culture to pop music, the result sitting as comfortably in the club as it does in my lounge room. Zina
Let’s just take in everything that is in the title of the embedded below. Firstly, it took place at Burning Man this year between 7am and 9:30am. Secondly it’s called Sleazey Beaches. So not only was this guy awake and spinning deep house before most people had even woken up for work, this legend was even managing to think up puns while he did it.
I mean, if he can pull this out that early in the morning, I can’t wait to see what he does with a proper night’s sleep at the Greenwood.
Young Franco
Young Franco sounds like summer. Crack open his skull and I bet you find a small man sitting by a beach drinking rum out of a coconut with an umbrella in it. His EP Franco & Friends is amazingly fun, the producer collabing with a bunch of singers and traversing throwback ’90s house and disco vibes like a master.
His most recent single Don’t You Want Me ft Blair De Milo has a very tasty Jamiroquai does bouncy house vibe that is screaming to be played by a pool somewhere, so I reckon he’ll go down a treat on the 28th.

Touch Sensitive
Last but very far from least is all conquering slap bass synth wizard Touch Sensitive. Wearing a moustache as sneaky as his beats, the man is a living legend of the local dance scene, as much for his incredible steez as his unrivaled skill on the strings and keys.
Famous for his cameo heavy Pizza Guy video, this guys knows how to deliver a top notch live show. Just check out this video of the man absolutely destroying a synth then slap bass solo live on triple j.
