Bust out your legwarmers and shoulder pads – 80s girl next door Kim Wilde and 80s heart-throb Nik Kershaw have announced that they’ll be touring Australia together in October. This will be Wilde’s first headline tour since 1994 and Kershaw’s first trip to Australia since 1985. Holy nostalgia, Batman.
Kim Wilde, known for her hits Kids In America and her version of The Supremes‘ You Keep Me Hanging On, has sold 10 million albums and 20 million singles and is the most charted British female artist of her generation. Nik Kershaw had a string of top 10 singles in the 80s, including Wouldn’t It Be Good, I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Wide Boy and The Riddle. Between them they had a massive 13 Top 40 hits.
Nik Kershaw will also be part of Kim’s backing band for the tour, along with Kim’s brother, Ricky Wilde, and his daughter, Scarlett Wilde, on backing vocals. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, 23rd April.
