The worlds of Black Veil Brides and 5 Seconds Of Summer are about to collide, because Andy Biersack has tapped the Aussie pop-punks’ drummer, Ashton Irwin, for his new solo album as “Andy Black”.
The BVB frontman recently posted a shot of the pair – along with 5SOS producer John Feldmann – on his personal Instagram account, reporting:
“Starting week 5 of #AndyBLACK with some kick ass drums! Thanks to the kind & talented @ashtonirwin for being so rad & thanks to @johnfeldy for working diligently to make this record so exciting! I am incredibly proud and stoked to share this with all of you! More updates coming! Stay tuned!”
Biersack’s solo record seems to be getting bigger by the day, after it was previously announced that Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and The Used’s Quinn Allman would also be contributing to the disc.
Earlier this year, Biersack also gave the BVBArmy more to get excited about, by revealing to MTV that work on a new BVB album was also underway.
“The intention is to finish both [the Black Veil Brides and Andy Black] records concurrently,” he said. “We’re going to get in, start working with John Feldmann and do a Black Veil record, then I’m going to try to get an Andy Black record done.”
And if Andy has indeed stuck to this plan, then that would mean the new BVB record is already in the bag!
We’ll keep a keen ear out for any updates. In the meantime, you can check out some of Biersack’s allstar snaps from his solo work in the studio, below.
