A Dream Team Of Aussie Artists Have Banded Together To Write An Anthem For The Matildas Ahead Of The World Cup

A dream team of Aussie artists including Ninajirachi, KLP, Kota Banks and Nina Las Vegas have rallied behind FIFA Women’s World Cup contenders the Matildas, writing the first song ever dedicated to the national women’s football team before they head off to France this June to compete.

The track, entitled ‘Everything We Ever Dreamed Of’, is a crisp slice of anthemic electro-pop, with its lyrics drawing on the perseverance and strength of the current generation of athletes in the team. “We won’t stop / the world is at our fingertips” goes the song’s infectious chorus.

The four artists, alongside additional songwriters GRAACE and Thandi Phoenix, were brought together by Nike to record the song in Sydney’s Forbes Street Studio back in April.

“It’s awesome knowing we can contribute to the Matildas’ journey in France,” commented Nina Las Vegas on the track. “The Matildas are inspiring all Australians to dream big, so we’re excited to raise up women’s football with this track collaboration.”

“We are heading into the biggest competition of our lives, so to have the nation rally behind us … feels really special” says Caitlin Foord, Nike Athlete and Matildas striker.

“We know a bunch of Aussies will head over to France, but this track gives all our fans on home soil a chance to get behind the Matildas. It’s a huge time for women in sport, so the more the fans can celebrate with us, the better.”
